New Zealand Army veteran. Service No. 714929. Served in Malaya, Borneo and Vietnam. Passed away peacefully on 12 June 2026, at Pōneke House, aged 88 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dearly loved husband of the late Fatimah Coutts. Third eldest son of the late Bannatyne Ernest Taylor Coutts (of Walls Shetland) and Sylvia Agnes Coutts (of Dunedin), and brother to Jim (dec), William (dec), Robert (dec), Richard (dec), Rosemary (dec) and Graeme. Special thanks to the staff of Pōneke House and Alexandra Rest Home for their care and support of Les. In keeping with Les's wishes, flowers are welcome. A service to celebrate Les's life will be held at the Cockburn St Chapel, cnr of Cockburn St and Onepu Rd, Kilbirnie, Wellington on Friday, 19 June, at 11.00am, thereafter private cremation.
