Eric DOORNEKAMP

Eric passed away peacefully at Summerset on the Coast, Paraparaumu, on 25th July 2026, aged 89. Dearly loved husband of Cathryn, father of Ananda, Erica and father-in-law of Regan. Adored Opa of Harley, Jett and Naia. He will also be deeply missed by his brothers, Henk, Rene and the late Roelof, and their families in Holland. Heartfelt thanks to the team at Summerset for their love and care. Founding Director of the Lotus Yoga Centre and Retreat in 1971 in Aro Street, Wellington, and relocating to the Kapiti Coast in 1985, Eric profoundly influenced the development of yoga in Aotearoa New Zealand. Having touched so many lives, his legacy will always live on in our hearts. A celebration of Eric's life will be held on Sunday 13 September 2026.
