Beverley McCONNELL

Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, surrounded by family, aged 95. She not only experienced life, but truly lived it. It was a privilege to have been loved by her. Beloved wife of the late Malcolm McConnell, mother to Nancy, Jacqueline, John, Kate and David, 'Granny Bev' to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and friend to so many. She was incredibly grateful for the wonderful Ayrlies team who worked alongside her in the garden and at home, and the St Thomas' church community. She lived with an open heart, embraced each moment, and brought light to those around her. We thank God for the blessing of her life, the love she shared, the creation of Ayrlies Garden, and the beautiful memories she leaves behind. May she rest in Aroha, reunited with her darling man. A celebration of Bev's life will be held at All Saints Church, 17 Selwyn Road, Howick, on Wednesday, 7 October at 11.00am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Friends of the Botanic Gardens or the Anglican Trust for women and children foundation are appreciated. The service will be livestreamed www.sibuns.co.nz

Slipped away peacefully on her own terms on Monday 28 September 2026, aged 88 years. Dearly loved wife of William Reginald Field (deceased). Ninny Nanny to Cohen and Sloane, and precious Kui to Aaliya, Maikara, Arlo, Jacob, Rea and Chloe. A very special Aunty Ag and friend to many. Our sincere thanks to Dr Tim Smith and the Kāpiti District Nurses for their dedicated care. FMS Passed away peacefully at home; aged 81 years. Loved and respected member of the Marist Brothers for 62 years, may he rest in peace. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St Ignatius Catholic Church, 12 Kotiri Street, St Heliers, on Tuesday, 6 October, at 11am then leaving for Waikaraka Cemetery. A Vigil Service will also be held at St Ignatius Catholic Church on Monday, 5 October, at 2.30pm. Bill passed away surrounded by love on Saturday 26 September 2026 at home after a very brave battle with cancer. He was 73 years young. Bill was dearly loved by his wife and best friend Christine Harris, his daughters Emma, Robyn and her partner Craig. Much loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. According to Bill's wishes, a private cremation has been held. A Memorial Celebration of Bill's life will be held next week at 12.30pm on Friday 9th October at Cedarwood, 17 Parata Street, Waikanae. For those who can't attend, a live-stream can be viewed at https://shorturl.at/d9LPW. The family would like to thank Mary Potter Hospice Kapiti who took exceptional care of Bill. A donation box will be available at the service.
