Friends of Berry are invited to celebrate her life on Monday, 17 August at 1.00pm at Kapiti Coast Funeral Home Chapel, Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu. Deirdre DE LA HAYE

Died peacefully on 10 August 2026 at Paraparaumu, aged 89 years, after a brief illness fought with her characteristic grit, and surrounded in the love of her family. Dearly loved wife of the late Max. Beautiful mother and mother-in-law to Debra, Kerry & Andrew Annakin, Rob, Rowan & Pete Busby, and Fiona & Roy Martin. Loving grandmother to Kimberly De La Haye, and Max, Rebecca & Vaughn Tattersall, Toby, Mikahere & Paris, Pedro, and Tamara Busby, and also a proud great-grandmother. During her full and active life, Paddy was a dedicated homemaker, an avid tennis player, talented at knitting, sewing and crochet, and enjoyed travelling around NZ and overseas. A Memorial Service to celebrate Paddy's life will be held at Our Lady of Kapiti Catholic Church, 1 Presentation Way, Paraparaumu, on Wednesday 19 August 2026 at 11.00am. A special thanks to the awesome staff of the Coastal Villas Care Home for their caring and support to Paddy (and family) in her final months. Paddy's service will be livestreamed at kapiti-catholic.org.nz

Eric DOORNEKAMP

(born Aalt Kobus Doornekamp) Eric passed away peacefully at Summerset on the Coast, Paraparaumu, on 25th July 2026, aged 89. Dearly loved husband of Cathryn, father of Ananda, Erica and father-in-law of Regan. Adored Opa of Harley, Jett and Naia. He will also be deeply missed by his brothers, Henk, Rene and the late Roelof, and their families in Holland. Heartfelt thanks to the team at Summerset for their love and care. Founding Director of the Lotus Yoga Centre and Retreat in 1971 in Aro Street, Wellington, and relocating to the Kapiti Coast in 1985, Eric profoundly influenced the development of yoga in Aotearoa New Zealand. Having touched so many lives, his legacy will always live on in our hearts. A celebration of Eric's life will be held on Sunday 13 September 2026. Died peacefully at Mackenzie Healthcare on Wednesday, 12th of August 2026, in his 91st year surrounded by his adoring family. A loving and dedicated husband of 67 years to Mary, a much loved and dedicated father and friend to Liz and Rob, David, and Jane and Charles. An adored grandfather of Alex and Alex, Hettie and Hugo, and Hugh, Reuben and Flynn and Mason, Jordan and Bailey, great-grandfather of Albie and Theo Morrison and Clara Dobson. Barry's service will be held at Saint Andrew's Church, Geraldine, at 2.30pm on Tuesday, 18th August. Barry was a much-loved uncle and friend to many. On Monday 20th July 2026, Jane passed, aged 62, after a brave and hard-fought five-year battle with breast cancer at the Mary Potter Hospice in Newtown, Wellington. Beloved wife of Peter. Much-loved mother of Poppy and Ruby. Loved sister of Mel, Anna, and Andrew, and daughter of Sue French and Kevin Hughes. Jane was a fabulous teacher who spent her career at local schools across New Zealand and abroad, touching the lives of hundreds of children. She will be missed, and forever in our hearts. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Wellington Hospital and the Mary Potter Hospice for their care and compassion.
