Deirdre DE LA HAYE

Died peacefully on 10 August 2026 at Paraparaumu, aged 89 years, after a brief illness fought with her characteristic grit, and surrounded in the love of her family. Dearly loved wife of the late Max. Beautiful mother and mother-in-law to Debra, Kerry & Andrew Annakin, Rob, Rowan & Pete Busby, and Fiona & Roy Martin. Loving grandmother to Kimberly De La Haye, and Max, Rebecca & Vaughn Tattersall, Toby, Mikahere & Paris, Pedro, and Tamara Busby, and also a proud great-grandmother. During her full and active life, Paddy was a dedicated homemaker, an avid tennis player, talented at knitting, sewing and crochet, and enjoyed travelling around NZ and overseas.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Paddy's life will be held at Our Lady of Kapiti Catholic Church, 1 Presentation Way, Paraparaumu, on Wednesday 19 August 2026 at 11.00am. A special thanks to the awesome staff of the Coastal Villas Care Home for their caring and support to Paddy (and family) in her final months.
