Born 27 May 1939 in Wellington and raised in Island Bay. Died 12 September 2026, peacefully with family in Perth, Western Australia. Brother of Maria van der Aa (née Moleta); husband of the late Christine Moleta (née Oakley); father of Sophie, Gabrielle, Clare and Benedict; father-in-law of Will, Sally and Leon; nonno of Frederick, Amos, Ravi and Franka; uncle of Rosina, Waltherus, and the late Wilhelmina; son of the late Rosina Moleta (née Barnao) and Leslie Moleta; grandson of the late Bartolo Barnao and Giuseppina Barnao (née Pirera). Very much loved by his family and friends. A requiem mass will be held in Perth on 23 September.
