On 9th July 2026, at Wellington Regional Hospital, aged 71 years. Dearly loved wife of Murray. Loved mother of Rachel and Jason. Sister of Robert, Brian, Dennis and Ron Hooper.

Special thanks to the staff of Ward 7 at Wellington Hospital for their recent care of Sylvia. A service for Sylvia will be held at the Cockburn St Chapel, cnr of Cockburn St and Onepu Rd, Kilbirnie, Wellington on Wednesday, 15th July 2026, at 10.00am, thereafter burial at Mākara Cemetery.
