Our beloved Sarah lost her struggle against cancer and a sudden critical illness early on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, aged 62, in the intensive care unit of Wellington Regional Hospital. She is deeply mourned by her husband Graeme Speden, her children Ronan and Sylvie, her sister Judi and brother Andrew, the wider Boyd/Speden whānau and her many friends and work colleagues. Sarah was the dearly loved daughter of the late Bob and Rosemary Boyd, of Nelson, daughter-in-law to Erica and the late Ian Speden, of Lower Hutt, darling sister of the late Caroline Boyd, loved sister-in-law to Anne Speden and Perry Rush; Silvano Lorandi; Jane Boyd; and Tony Cooke, special auntie to Isabella and Patric Lorandi; Laura and Alice Boyd; Tim, Rebecca and Hamish Cooke; and Ben and Sofia Rush. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Wellington ICU for their exceptional care and kindness. Sarah's funeral will be at 11am, Wednesday, 22 July, at Old St Paul's, Wellington. All who wish to attend are welcome.
