Peacefully on 23 July 2026 at Parkwood Lodge, Waikanae, aged 85 years. Dearly loved wife of Gerhard. Loved stepmother of Mark, Christina and Christopher, sister and sister-in-law of Elaine & Brian Evans.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Wellington Free Ambulance would be appreciated at https://www.wfa.org.nz/donate Special thanks to the Parkwood Lodge staff, especially Zoe, Virginia and Jenny for their outstanding care of Merle.

A service to celebrate Merle's life will be held at Cedarwood, 17 Parata Street, Waikanae, on Friday 31 July 2026 at 11.00am, followed by private cremation. A livestream link is available at https://together.oneroomstreaming.com/5TPRDF
