Died 26 August 2026Posted 28 September 2026

Passed away peacefully at The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane, with his loving daughter, Vivian, and son, Grant, by his side, on 26 August 2026, aged 88, not long after an unexpected cancer diagnosis. A sincere thank you to all the doctors, nurses, social work team and staff of the palliative care unit, for the care given to Dad and kindness shown to the whole family. Dad was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all his family; daughter-in-law Marion, his grandsons Shaun and Hayden, great-nephew Nelson and extended family here in QLD, his nieces Tracy, Carol, Barbara and Paula, great-nieces and nephews, and extended family over in N.Z., and relatives in the U.S.A. Jango (the dog) is also missing his company terribly. Dad was a valued friend to many people – always kind, generous, loving and supportive, and was a respected member of the communities he was part of throughout his life – tennis, softball, soccer, baseball, horse racing, music, school connections, neighbourhoods, church groups and past workplaces, especially at Ford.

A private cremation has taken place, and a remembrance service will be held in Brisbane for family and friends. The date and location will be shared once confirmed.

Messages to the family can be addressed to Vivian Younger, PO Box 872, Albany Creek QLD, 4035, Australia.
