On Friday, 7 August 2026, at his home in Southgate, surrounded by his family, aged 87 years. Dearly loved husband of Loka. Loved father and father-in-law of Katie, Rona, Leevan, Annabelle and Phillip. Devoted grandfather of Yasmin, Kane, Isaac, Olivia, Keiha, Keepa, Eleni, Nua, Dom and Mila. Loved and cherished by all his wider family, including his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended aiga both in New Zealand and overseas, who will forever hold him close in their hearts. Special thanks to Osama (Sam) for his care, Mary Potter Hospice, and Wellington Free Ambulance for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Wellington Free Ambulance would be appreciated and may be made online at www.wfa.org.nz. Lemalu's Requiem Mass will be celebrated at the Church of St Francis de Sales, 153 Clyde Street, Island Bay, Wellington, on Saturday 15 August 2026 at 9.00am, thereafter interment at Mākara Cemetery.
