Died peacefully on 19 June 2026 at Kenepuru Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, following a stroke on 1 May 2026. Aged 88.

Much loved husband of Karen, loving father of Jan, Paul, Catherine and Sarah, and proud grandfather of Tom and the late Harriet (Hat).

In accordance with Denis's wishes, a family-only funeral was held on 24 June 2026.
