William HUGHES

Passed away peacefully on 31st August 2026, aged 91 after a short illness. Dearly loved husband of the late Beth and dear friend of Maureen. Loved father and father-in-law of Raewyn and Pat Hartley, David and Fiona Hughes, Kaye-Maree and Peter Mihaljevich, Peter and Maree Hughes, Ross and Tania Hughes. Brother of Ivy, Trevor, Barry, Terry, Shirley and Marleen and their partners Treasured grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and a respected friend to many. The family warmly thanks Taranaki Base Hospital and Jean Sandel for their care, kindness, and support.

A service to celebrate Murray's life will be held at Abrahams Funeral Home, 366 Devon Street East, New Plymouth, on 8th September at 2pm, followed by afternoon tea & refreshments. Thereafter a private burial. livestreamed at wabraham.co.nz/main-chapel.
