Mervyn CAVEY

We are saddened to announce the passing of Mervyn George Cavey, late of Kurrimine Beach. Merv passed peacefully on the 24th of September, 2026, aged 83. Born 24th of June 1943 in New Plymouth, Okato/Manaia Taranaki was home to Merv before relocating to Australia in 1976 with his family. He later bought the Kurrimine Beach Motel with Yvonne which was his final home and favourite place to be. Merv was a much loved husband of Yvonne. Father to Naomi, Khris, Sal and Caryn. Beloved Pop of Mitchell, Robyn, Lauren, Lochlan, Joshua, Ben, Danielle, Matthew, Phoebe Jessica, Heidi and Jake. Great-grandfather to Savannah. A brother of Les (d.), Joyce, Brian (d.), Peter, Gordon (d.), Malcolm and Rodney, and a great mate to many. Merv will be dearly missed. Our family extend the invitation to those who wish to attend Merv's service which will be held at Kurrimine Beach Motel, North Queensland AUS, on the 29th of September 2026, at 10am.
