22 July 1943 - 21 August 2026
It is with immense sadness that our family announce that Heather passed away at home, as she wanted, surrounded by all her family. She was the beloved wife and best friend of David for over 62 years, the best mum ever of Linda and Pete Kendall, Malcolm and Jeanie, Raymond and Rachael, and much-loved Nanny of Blair Rookes and Alarna, Jannica Rookes, and Tiffany and Phil Harris, she was also a treasured Nanny of Everly, Kylan and Liam. Doggy mum to Higgins and Toby. Born in Lakemba, Sydney, Australia, she made New Zealand her home and has had the most wonderful life here but always made sure we were connected with our Aussie Seatter family with love, laughter and visits with our dear Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, and cousins. Along with Dave, they created Okato Bus Lines and Okato Travel Club and served Okato, New Plymouth and Taranaki for many years, making so many lifelong friends with their staff along the way. They loved to travel and have seen wondrous places and met fabulous people from around the world and have been travel blessed. A very special thank you goes to the staff at Taranaki Base Hospital, Oakura Medical Centre, Vivian Pharmacy, Hospice and our angel Milly from Cherish Respite and her beautiful team, we could not have cared for her at home without all this love and support. To Vospers Funeral Services who have made miracles happen for us in such a short time, we will be forever grateful. Thank you to everyone who has messaged, phoned, visited and sent flowers and food. This has been so appreciated by all of us. It was a privilege for her Aussie family, sister Isabelle, and nieces, Kim, Leanne and Stacy to spend time to say their farewells.
"Rest peacefully with the angels my darling Sister and our Aunty"
A small family gathering has already been held, as per Heather's wishes. Those of you wanting to visit Dave or the family are more than welcome to come for a cuppa or just ring and have a chat.
The ones that love us, never really leave us
