(Late of Orepuki and Waimahaka). Suddenly at home, after a long illness, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in his 84th year. Dearly loved husband of Marjory (née Paisley). Loved father of Paul Smith, and Debbie Smith. Adored and loved grandad of Scarlett, Brock, Summer, and Jake. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Kevin*, Barry*, Trevor*, Patricia and Stan* Murdoch, Denise Smith, Gail and Alan Paisley, Noeline and Bryan Hartstonge, Garry and Andrea Smith, and a loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate John's life will be held in the Avenal Park Chapel, 75 Fox Street, on Wednesday, July 15 at 11.00am.
