Peacefully at Oxford Hospital on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, after a brief illness, aged 95. Loving wife of the late Brian, Loving mother and mother-in-law of Kerry, Lindsay and Wendy, and Jan. Loving grandma/nana of Eula and Kelly, Gloria and Luc, Kimberley and Ben, Caleb, and Holly. Loving great-grandma of Audrey, Nina, Elliot, Jack, and Marley. Loved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many. A special thanks to the staff at Christchurch and Oxford Hospitals who cared for her in her last days. A life well lived that touched many.

A private burial has been held.

A celebration of Val's life will be held at Beckenham Methodist Church, 83 Malcolm Ave, Christchurch, on Saturday, June 27, at 10.30am.
