Died peacefully at Timaru Hospital, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026; aged 84 years. Dearly loved husband of Jennifer; father and father-in-law of Stuart and Gina, Ian and Tessa, and brother and brother-in-law of Helen and John Zwies, Lynda and Trevor Holland, and Sandra Wiggins; grandad of Evelyn; and uncle to his nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the team at Margaret Wilson Home and the doctors and staff at Timaru Public Hospital. In keeping with John's wishes, a private family service has been held.
