Passed away peacefully at Burwood Hospital on June 9, 2026; aged 79 years. Much loved mother of Jeremy and Tim, loved partner of the late Gary Brereton, dearest sister to Ann and Warren, cherished mother-in-law to Justine, and a very special grandma to Jack and Sam.

A private cremation has been held in accordance with Joan's wishes, and a celebration of her life with close family and friends in Timaru will follow at a later date.
