On Saturday, August 1, 2026, peacefully at home, surrounded by family and close friends; aged 68 years. Much loved son of David and Althea (both deceased), dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Sharen and Ian, Maree and Stephen, adored uncle of Prue and Reuben, Dominic and Stephanie, Laura and James, Hamish and Saskia, great-uncle of Hugo, Louis, Quinn, Arlo, Evie, Luna and Harrison.

Messages to the Oetgen family, c/o PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443. At Darryl's request a private cremation has been held. Family and friends are invited to the Valley Inn Tavern, Heathcote Valley, to celebrate Darryl's life on Thursday, August 6, from 1.00pm.
