On July 18, 2026 at Nazareth House, Christchurch, supported by her Mercy community, family and staff. Dearly loved member of Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa Sisters of Mercy New Zealand in the 67th year of her religious profession, aged 89 years. Dearly loved daughter of the late Daisy and Gregory Fitzgerald, loved sister and sister-in-law of Sr Marie RSM (dec), Sr Elizabeth RSM (dec), Patrick (dec), Claire and the late John Tier, Jim (dec) and Gwen (Melbourne), Michael (dec) and Bernadine (Upper Hutt), and Kathryn and Reg Owens (Ashburton). A loved aunt of all her nieces and nephews. Special thanks to staff at Nazareth House and Mercy carers. Funeral Eucharist will be celebrated at Nazareth House Chapel, 220 Brougham Street, Christchurch, on Thursday, July 23 at 11.00am, followed by interment at Waimairi Cemetery, Grahams Road.
