On August 19, 2026, peacefully at Bupa Parklands, aged 73 years. Best friend, life partner and soulmate of Trish; loved, treasured and always present dad of Rebecca (and Rob) and Kristen (and Nick), and loved granddad of Sophie, Shyla and Gemma. Special thanks to the staff at Arvida Ilam Village who supported and cared for him at the start of this journey, and the staff at Bupa Parklands who sensitively and respectfully supported him through to the end.

In lieu of flowers you are invited to donate on the day to Hato Hone St John and Dementia Canterbury. Messages may be addressed to the Dench family, c/- info@hopefuneralschristchurch.co.nz, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch 8042.

A memorial service will be held at Hope Presbyterian Hornby, on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 1.00pm.
