Died suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Friday 28th August 2026, aged 84, while doing two of his favourite things - eating ice-cream and watching the sports news! Loving and loved husband of Dianna; loved father and father-in-law to Stephen and Adam, Penny and Paul, and Natalie and Roz; forever Grandad to Toby, Lucas, Dexie and Esme; valued friend to many.

A funeral to commemorate John's life will be held at the Greenwood Chapel, Hamilton Park Cemetery, Newstead, at 11.00am on Monday 7th September.
