Ian METCALFE

Passed away peacefully with family by his side in Nelson, on 29 May 2026, aged 74 years. Dearly loved husband of Ali, much-loved father and father-in-law of Rebecca and Lorenzo, Stephanie and Joshua, Anthony and Ryan, and adored Poppa of Alba, Sia, Arlo & Henry. Known for his warmth, generosity, and welcoming nature, Ian had a special gift for bringing people together and making everyone feel at home. Whether sharing a story, hosting family and friends, or leading a business, he made people feel valued, comfortable, and cared for. Ian will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his kindness, friendship, and the joy he brought to the lives of so many. A small private family service was held for Ian where family gathered to celebrate his life, sharing stories, laughter and wine - just as Ian would have wanted. A fitting farewell to a much loved husband, father, poppa, brother and friend.
