On Monday, 20th July 2026 at her Kenwyn Rest Home, Te Aroha, in her 101st year. Loved wife of the late David. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Beth & Kevin Walker, Judy and Michael Barker. Treasured grandma of Maree & Daniel, Lee-Anne & Braden, Michael & Helen, Shane & Caitlin, Jaymee and Dannielle & Nathan. Loved great-grandma of Max, Tegan, Charlotte, Matthias, Ryan and Cole. A very special thanks to the staff of Kenwyn Rest Home for their love, kindness and compassion over her time there.

A service for Merle will be held at Christ Church Anglican Church, cnr Manuaute and Huia Streets, Taumarunui, on Monday, 27th July 2026 at 11.00am, followed by burial. All communications to the Jurgens family, PO Box 4, Te Aroha 3342.
