Peacefully at Summerset Village Cambridge, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, aged 81 years. A chardonnay-drinking, rum-toting rascal who always seemed to catch the biggest fish. Loving husband of Elspeth for 36 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Kristie and Jason, Michael and Mimi, Natalie and Darrel, Daniel and Corinne. Adored Grandad of Olliver, Ben, Hannah, Toby, Liam, Zahra, Will, Lucy and Quinn. Special mention to the staff at Summerset Retirement Village for their compassionate care of their founding resident.

A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at the Park Chapel, Hamilton Park Crematorium, Morrinsville Road, Newstead, on Monday, 10 August 2026, at 1.00pm.
