Died 18 August 2026Posted 23 August 2026
On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, after 97 years the sun finally set on Murray's life. He passed peacefully at Ascot Care Home. He was the loved husband of the late Denise Faul (nee Tattersfield), and loved father of his five daughters Pam and Robin Wilson, Narelle and the late Brett Pollock (Te Kuiti), Sheryl and John Leonard (Clyde), Andrea and Jack Tither, and Jennifer and Eugene Skerrett. Murray was the proud Grandad of Nikki, Sonya and Abbey Wilson, Kerryn Pollock, Anna Kydd and Belinda Cammock, Reon Tither, Rory Leonard, and their partners. He tried very hard to keep track of all his 14 great-grandchildren. Murray was the loved younger brother of the late Dulcie Stewart and Jack Faul. Loved uncle of his nieces and nephews. The family wish to thank all the carers who have looked after Dad since he lost Mum. A special thank you to Leah Brown, Nurse Practitioner, for being such a strong advocate for Dad over the last year and always treating him and us with respect, patience and dignity. We will celebrate Murray's life with an informal gathering on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 11.00am at the graveside Block 53, Eastern Cemetery, Invercargill, when we will inter his ashes with Mum.
