On Monday, August 17, 2026, peacefully at Dunedin Public Hospital surrounded by his loved ones; age 76. Dearly loved husband and soul mate of Debbie, dearly loved father and father-in-law of Andrew, Kaye and Gerard, Tina, Ngaire and Shay, and Rebecca and James. Dearly loved Grandad of Nardia, Jamie, Forde, Natalia, Nakaysha; Samanta, and Kegan. Dearly loved by his great-grandchildren. Dearly loved brother of his brothers and sister. As per Merv's wishes a private family farewell will take place.
