In his 74th year. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Beloved son of the late Charles and Edith Smith, brother and great mate of Hilary and John Hornbrook, Oliver and Georgia, Elliot and Cooper; Judy and Bill McKenzie, Rowan, Georgie and Angus, Rory and Leticia. A generous friend to many.

A service for John will be held in the Gore RSA function lounge, Bowler Avenue, Gore, on Monday, August 31 at 1.00pm. Flowers respectfully declined.
