John passed away peacefully at Southland Hospital after a brief illness. Dearly loved partner of Kanya. Father and father-in-law of Mathew, Simon, and Geoff and Clara. Loved stepfather of Mel and Sarah. Much loved grandfather of Georgia and Hugo. Loved brother of Merle*, Catherine, Charlie, Mervyn, Avis, and their families. Loved uncle of all his nieces and nephews. As per his wishes, a private service for John will be held.
