Passed peacefully but unexpectedly at Dunedin Hospital on Saturday, August 15, 2026, aged 84 years. Devoted husband of the late Julie, loved father of Reece and Lea, Grandad of Bree and Connor Mehrtens. Younger brother of Bill Barber. As per Barrie's wishes, a private cremation has been held, with a Memorial service to celebrate Barrie's life to be held at the Croydon Aviation Heritage Centre, 1558 Waimea Highway, Mandeville, on Sunday, August 30, at 1.30pm. A special thank you to Dunstan and Dunedin Hospitals for their kind care of Dad.
