Ann SIMEON

Unexpectedly at Southland Hospital, on August 26, 2026, aged 84 years. Treasured daughter of Dick* and Dorothy* (Dorrie) Wilks (née Hibbs) and loved sister of Robin Wilks. Beloved wife of Hoeta* (Dick) Simeon, married for 34 years until his passing in 1995.

Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Hoeta and Jackie Simeon (Australia), Manu and Marie Simeon (Invercargill), Pania and Russell Coote (Bluff), Aorangi and Michael Black (Bluff), Nepia and Wendy Simeon (Invercargill), Rewa and Allan Shearer (Invercargill), Terina Simeon (Bluff). A devoted tāua to 21 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Ann was a respected, long-standing member of the Bluff community and the wider Awarua Takiwa, contributing across generations to whānau, hapori, and kaupapa. Ann is laying in state at home in Bluff and will be laying at Te Rau Aroha Marae on Monday, August 30, late afternoon; friends/whānau are encouraged to visit. The service will take place at Te Rau Aroha Marae, on Tuesday, September 1, beginning at 11.00am.
