DOWNS, Ted (Edward) David. Died on Thursday 23rd July 2026, at Jane Winstone Rest Home, Aged 95 years Much loved husband of Maureen for 62 years. Loved father of Janet, Carol, David, and John and father-in-law of John, Bruce, Katherine, and Matt Treasured grandfather of Libby, Alicia, Sean, Alanna, Blair, Jack, Joshua, Toby, and Finn. Great-grandfather of Rico, Harper, Luca, Milo, Kōwhai, and Hadley. And extended family in Ireland, England, and Australia. The family extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at both Jane Winstone Rest Home and Whanganui Hospital for their wonderful care of Ted.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Malaghan Institute (Cancer Research) would be greatly appreciated and may be left in the Church Foyer. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, Tawhero St, Wanganui next Saturday 1st August 2026 at 1.00pm to be followed by a private family burial on Monday 3rd August 2026. The family extend an invitation to join them for Rosary for Ted in the Church on Friday evening at 5.30pm.
