(Formerly of Thames, Orere Point, Hawera, Palmerston North, Reefton and Northcote). On Monday 14th September 2026 at Waikato Hospital, after a short illness, a vibrant spirit was lost to the world; aged 76. Loving husband of the late Coralie for 51 years and dedicated father and father-in-law of Miranda and Gary, Alyse, Ben and Abi. Proud Grandad of Lemmy, Kanoa, Elsa and Alex. A titan of education and lover of literature, travel, food, music and the theatre. Someone who made his mark on many people's lives and will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of Rob's life will be held at The Grahamstown Chapel, 102 Kirkwood Street, Thames, on Monday 21st September at 11.00am, followed by private cremation.
