Passed away after a short but courageous battle on July 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband of Be. Loved eldest son of Leslie and Patricia Cannan (both deceased). Cherished father of Kimberly and Jade, and Matthew and Nicky. Treasured stepdad of Della and Kevin, Linda and Vern, Lisa and Hira, and Che. Devoted Grandad to all his mokopuna. Loved brother, uncle, and friend to many.

A service to celebrate Chris's life will be held at the Ashburton Club and MSA, 231 Burnett Street, in the Burnett Lounge, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 1.30pm, followed by interment at the Ashburton Cemetery.
