1968 – 2026 · Bay of Plenty

Died 20 July 2026Posted 28 July 2026

GRAVES, Ian Roy. 13/04/1968 - 20/07/2026 Our dear Ian died suddenly while surfing at his beloved Whale Bay (Indicators surf break), Raglan, as the result of an accident. He was kind, honest and good to the marrow of his bones. And he was never mainstream. He leaves behind wife Andrea, son Jack, daughter Anna, brother Mark, Godmother Ann and many treasured friends. Heartfelt thanks to those who made valiant rescue attempts.

In lieu of flowers, please vote Green. Comms to andrea.graves@sling shot.co.nz. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ian's life at 2 pm on Monday 27th July at the Pāpāmoa Surf Life Saving Club, 561 Papamoa Beach Road.
