David STANSBURY

STANSBURY, David John Balfour (Dave). On Thursday, 2 July 2026, peacefully at Golden Pond Private Hospital Whakatane aged 86 years. Dearly loved Husband of Jan. Much loved father and father in law of Troy, and Heidi and Patrick. Adored grandad of Jess, Sam, Fern, Summer, Zara, Ruben, Danielle, Ned, Tynealle, Rikki and Max. Most treasured great grandad of his many beautiful great grandchildren. A respected leader in the shearing community, he "sheared" his knowledge as a shearing instructor, trained future generations, earned the honour of judging shearing competitions, and proudly served on the Shearing Wool Board, leaving a lasting legacy in the industry he loved.

A celebration of David's life will be held in the chapel of Willetts Funeral Services, 21 King Street, Whakatane, on Monday, 6 July at 11am, followed by private cremation.
