OBE, Scientist. Creative writer and poet. Born Hokitika 22 February 1929, died peacefully on 17 September 2026 surrounded by family at Wellington Regional Hospital; in his 98th year. Former Director of Research at the Forest Research Institute, Rotorua. Dearly loved husband of the late Anne. Adored and cherished father and father-in-law of Lindsay, Sallie and Mike. Much loved grandpa of Charlotte, Annabelle and Helena. Brother and brother-in-law. Loved by his nieces and nephews. Passed away peacefully on 31st of August 2026, with Belinda and Mandy by her side. Deeply loved wife of the late John, and a proud Mum, Mumma & Great Mumma. Beloved wife of John (dec), and mother and mother-in-law of Michael and Sarah, Paul, Frances and Simon, and Robert and Helen. Following the interment at Eskdale Cemetery we will informally "celebrate her life" at a gathering at Eskdale Memorial Church from 2.00pm till 4.00pm.
