Passed away peacefully on Tuesday 22nd September 2026, surrounded by her family, aged 87 Years. Devoted wife to the late Edward (Bruce). Loving mother to Gwyn, Jane, Gaye, Kirstie, Amanda and Claire. Much loved grandmother of Enoka, Tahuwaka, Hunter, Pearl, Archie and Austin. Loved Great-grandmother of Erangi, Enoka and Waimea, and one on the way. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team at Te Awa Lifecare, Cambridge, for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion. In line with Marie's wishes a private burial has taken place. Passed away at Waikato Hospital after a short illness on Wednesday 16th September 2026, aged 90 years. Dearly loved husband of Delia for 53 years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Denise & Steve Preece, Wayne & Bridie Pizzini; and much-loved stepfather of Gary & Jill Brown, Craig & Megan Brown, and Wayne & Paula Brown. A loving Grandad to his 11 grandchildren, and Old Grandad to his 24 great-grandchildren. Passed away at Resthaven Home & Hospital on Wednesday, 2nd September 2026, aged 90 years. Wife of the late Bill Burroughs and the late Denton McCarty. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Peter & Michelle, Mary-Ann, Philip, Mike & the late Megan, the late Diane & Murray, and the late Kevin & Tina. Adored Nana to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary will be lying in state at her home for those wishing to visit and pay their respects prior to her funeral. A Requiem Mass to celebrate Mary's life will be held at St Peter's Catholic Church, Anzac Street, Cambridge, on Monday, 7th September 2026 at 6.00pm, followed by burial at Hamilton Park Lawn Cemetery on Tuesday, 8th September 2026.
