PERKINS, Barry John. Barry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer, aged 82 years. Dearly loved husband of Shirley, friends for 63 years and married for 61 years. Treasured Dad to Tony and Elva, Tina, and Tim and Staci. A much-loved Grandad and Great- Grandad. Barry was a founding member of the Taradale Club, life member of the Upper Hutt Hockey Club, Ulysses Club Member #2791, long term member of the Ahuriri Sunrise Rotary Club, and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship. A service to celebrate Barry's life will be held in the Beth Shan Chapel, 371 Gloucester Street, Taradale on Saturday, 19 September at 1.30pm. BETTY, Grant. 17.04.1959 - 06.09.2026 Much loved husband, father and best mate of Stephanie and Josh. Dear brother of Eric and Glenys, Johnny and Lorraine (both deceased), Judy and Merv (deceased), Terry and Jenny, Rodney, and Michelle and Brent. Thank you to the staff at Cranford Hospice and Hastings Hospital AAU for their care of Grant and his family. STARTIN, Betty (Florence Elisabeth). Betty passed peacefully at 97 years old on Thursday, 3 September 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved wife of Arthur (deceased). Most beloved Mum of Jennifer, and adored Grandma of Dexter and Elisabeth and their respective partners. Best guardian to her dog Lennie, and treasured friend to many all across the globe. Betty had a long and celebrated 42 years as a primary school teacher and carried her wit and penchant for knowledge all through her life. She was always kind, fair, and humble, and will be greatly missed, but her joyful legacy will continue through all those who loved her. The family thanks all the staff at HB Hospital, especially Wards B3 and AT&R, for the love and care shown to Betty and her family in her final weeks. We are all incredibly lucky to have known her. May she now be reunited with her husband, siblings, and cherished friends. A service to celebrate Betty's life will be held in the Beth Shan Chapel, 371 Gloucester Street, Taradale on Thursday, 10 September at 2.00pm, followed by private cremation.

CLAYPOLE, Gordon William. RN 22334522 11.10.1931 - 2.09.2026 Gordon, 94, passed peacefully on Wednesday, 2 September 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband of Dorothy. Much loved father of David and Rhonda, Jenny and the late John, Alan and Jo and Katherine. Cherished Pop to Ayrton, Lewis, Nicholas, Reuben, Lauren, Sophie, Lily Rose, Charlie and Leila. The family thanks the staff at HB Hospital, especially ED and Ward B2 staff, and St John Ambulance for the loving care given to Dad.
