THOMPSON, Joseph Patrick. Passed away peacefully aged 96 on 21 September 2026. Dearly beloved husband of Josephine and Milika; loved father of Elaine, Stephen (Epeli) and Michael; grandfather of Jacob, Jaunnie, Frelimo, Jessica, Lilliani, Anolo, Valu and Foliake. He will be deeply missed by us all. A Mass for Joe will be held at St Josephs, Takapuna at 9.25am on Friday 2 October, and later his funeral service will be held at Romaleigh Chapel, 31 Ocean View Road, Northcote at 11.00am. He will be laid to rest at Waikumete Cemetery with Josephine. May his soul be at the right hand of God.
Malcolm HALE

HALE, Malcolm Edwin. Passed away peacefully on 23 September 2026 aged 87 years. Much loved father of Janine and Richard Hale, and beloved younger brother to Yvonne Stirling. Our sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Ward 5, Totara Haumaru Hospital for the compassionate and respectful care they provided Dad during his final days. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his warmth, humour, generosity, and positive influence on all who knew him. A private cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Malcolm's life at Romaleigh, 31 Ocean View Rd, Northcote on Saturday 3 October 2026 at 10:30am.

Passed away peacefully in her sleep on 24 September 2026 aged 93 Married for 73 years, dearly beloved wife and best friend of John; loving mum and mother- in-law of Anne and Allan, Stephen and Louise, and Jean and Mark; adored grandma to Kelly-Anne and Samel, Jonathan and Marissa, Michael and Alexis, Edward and Nyasha; proud great grandma to seven. A service to celebrate Pat's life will be held on Wednesday, 30 September at 10:30am in Romaleigh Chapel, 31 Ocean View Road, Northcote. Pat will be missed greatly. May she rest in peace.

OSWALD, Alan Graeme. Alan's family regret to advise that he slipped away unexpectedly from us on the evening of 28 August 2026 at just 59 years old. Treasured son of Dennis and Bonnie; and a loved and respected brother of John, David, and Greg. We will all miss him greatly. As per his long-held wishes, a prompt, no fuss private departure has been observed.
