SUMMERS, Neil. 15 September 1946 - 24 September 2026. Dearest and much loved husband of Neva. Treasured father of Christine, Jo and Nikki. Respected father in law of Steve, Christian and Luke. WATT, Russell James. On August 25, 2026, aged 82 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Son of the late William (Bill) and Nora, dearly loved husband of Leslie. Adored father and father-in-law of Nicholas, and Veronica and Philip. Treasured grandfather (Poppa Russ) of Charlotte and Marlow. Brother and brother- in-law of Sharon and Don, Peter (deceased) and Michele (deceased), Leone (deceased) and Rob. Loved by Robin and Jim Wright and Poppa to Nina, Lily and Michael. Uncle to his cherished nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A vigil rosary will be held on Tuesday 1 September at 730pm followed by Requiem mass on Wednesday 2 September at 10am at St Michael's Church, 6 Beatrice Road, Remuera followed by burial at Purewa Cemetery. POWELL, Michael John. Died peacefully, surrounded by his family in Auckland, aged 80. Emeritus Professor Griffith University, Queensland, Australia; graduate and former Deputy Dean of Business School of the University of Auckland. Beloved husband of Heather (Polly) Parker. Previously married to Susan Jennifer nee Patience. Father of Oliver John and Tobias (Toby) Innis and daughters-in-law, Melissa and Rosemarie. Step-Dad to Justine, and Simone and Barrie. Poppa to Anya, Theo, Jackson, Maia, Bonnie, Sophia, Leo, Zoe, Connor, and Phoebe. Great-Poppa to Eliza and Otto. Brother to Patricia, Kerry, Jill, and Jo. Son of the late John (Jack) and Susan (nee Halliday) Powell. A boy from Te Puke who travelled the world, making dear friends at every stop. An accomplished scholar and academic leader. A loving husband, father, brother and cousin. A wonderful and loyal friend to many. A cyclist and walker. Faithful (even to the Blues), hopeful, maker of memories, lover of life, and the goodness that is all around. We had a great ride and time now to rest in the sun. Funeral to be held at All Saints Chapel, Purewa, 100 St Johns Road, Meadowbank on Monday 17 August at 12pm. MADDEN, James (Jim). Passed away peacefully on the 1st of August, aged 86 years. Treasured husband of Sheryl, dearly loved Dad of Kimberley (and Mark) and Melanie (and Nigel), and cherished Poppa of Mikayla and Hannah. Brother to Peter and Murray and loved brother(-in-law) of Lynley. A well-respected educator. A celebration of his life will be held in Auckland at All Saints Chapel at Purewa Cemetery 100/102 St Johns Road, Meadowbank on Saturday, 8th August at 12 midday. Jim's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at CHT St Johns for their love, care, and kindness over the past six years.
