Passed away peacefully on 26 September 2026, surrounded by his family, after a short illness, aged 93 years. Cherished husband of his late wife, Elizabeth. Much-loved father of Derek, Stuart, Patricia, and Natalie. Loved father-in-law of Choi Foong, Tracey, Andrew, and Rhodri. Treasured Yeh Yeh to Caleb and Ethan, and Gong Gong to Aidan, Gabrielle, Callum, Samuel, and Lucie.

A funeral service to celebrate Richard's life will be held on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at 11.30am at Morrisons Funerals Henderson, followed by an interment at Waikumete Cemetery at 2.00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimers New Zealand would be much appreciated.
