Following a long illness, Rob passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Queen Elizabeth ll Hospital, Coopers Plains, Queensland, in his 83rd year with his loving family by his side. Dearly loved husband of Jill Whyte and father of Darren Hyde (Invercargill), Kim Stebbans* (Qld) and James Whyte* (Qld), and father and father-in law of Trudy and Ian Campbell (Qld). Adored Poppy of Joshua Goddard (Qld), Chloe Goddard and Shaun Cooley and poppy to his great-grandson, Atlas Cooley (Qld). Much loved brother and brother-in-law, and uncle and great-uncle to all his nieces and nephews in both the Whyte and Brown families. A private service will be held Brisbane to farewell Rob.
