ASKIN, Doreen (Dors) Mary. Aged 79, of Whangārei, passed away unexpectedly on 26 September 2026 in Wellington. She was a much-loved Mum and friend to Tania, Sharon and Neal, Darryn, Sue, Cameron, Kirsten and Nic, and Lois and Colin. And loved little sister to Trevor and Liz. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her - and, no doubt, by ice cream companies throughout New Zealand. We will be remembering Mum at her place on Sunday October 4th from 1pm. We miss you with every breath.

BAVISTER, Reynolds John. RNZEME 21490 Passed away 25 September 2026 aged 90 years. Son of the late Jack and Agnes. Loved husband to Christine of 40 years. Father of Warren, Michelle and Heather. Brother to Susan, Lorna and the late Gordon. Brother-in- law to Ken and Stephen. Father-in-law to Andy and Vaughan. Beloved grandpa to Poppy, Molly, Foster, Harrison and Austin. At peace after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. The family would like to thank St John Ambulance and the staff in ED at Rotorua Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dementia NZ would be appreciated. A service to celebrate Reynolds' life will be held at Collingwood Funeral Home Chapel, 1358 Eruera St, Rotorua Monday 5th October 2026 at 11am.

STEVENSON, John Rex (Rex). Passed away peacefully on Saturday 26 September 2026, aged 97 years. Rex is now reunited with his wife of 62 years, his beloved Fay. Much loved father and father-in-law of Cherry, Marie and Eddie, Rae and Craig, Don and Sara. Loved Grandad of Craig, David, Greg, Daniel, Steven, Gary, Jacob, Eve, and thirteen great grandchildren. A service to celebrate Rex's life will be held at the Waipu Presbyterian Church (50 The Centre, Waipu) at 2:00 pm on Thursday 1st October 2026, followed by a private cremation. FARNHAM, Charles Richard. 22/07/1944 - 07/09/2026 Charlie died peacefully at home. Loved son of Owen and Kitty Farnham. Loved brother of Emily Tavinor, the late Jim Farnham, Philip Farnham and Kathy Jones. Special partner of the late Jean Oldfield. Remembered by Jean's son Mark Oldfield. Supportive grand- father to Isabelle, Zeak, Paige, Ruby and Jaxson. Charlie's cremation has held in Kerkeri.

Freda CALDWELL

CALDWELL, Freda Grace. (nee Stuart) Freda of Whangarei died on the 10th September 2026, at 94 years old surrounded by those who loved her. Dearly loved wife of the late Nick Caldwell. Treasured mum and mother-in-law of Kristin and Ken, Andrea and Pete, and Michael and Susie. Proud Nana of James and Nerida, Andrew (deceased), Dan and Beth, Tom and Josh, and adored Great- Nana of Alexis, Annabelle, Addison and Freddie. Sister of the late Veronica and the late Freddie, Aunt to Stuart and John Larson and sister-in- law of Kate and Larry Caldwell. Originally from Scotland Freda was an Occupational Therapist, also a potter, later graduated with a Fine Arts degree from Ilam majoring in printmaking and was involved with the orchid society . She will be remembered for her quiet strength, immense creativity and deep love of family. A family memory day will be held at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the medical teams and the staff at Jane Mander and Ashbury Heights retirement villages for their exceptional care.
