Strong of heart, steady in spirit, forever cherished and will always in our hearts. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Darryl Knapp, who lost his courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in his 71st year. Darryl is survived by his adored wife, Christine, and his "terrible boys," Daniel and Rhys, much-loved father-in-law to Yolanda and Charlotte, he was a devoted Pop to Zara, Cameron, and McKenzie and Bailey, Alyssa (Perth) and a proud Great-Granddad to Braxton, Rylee, Louis, and Alec. Darryl's unique wisdom, wealth of knowledge, and wonderful sense of humour will be deeply missed by his family and by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A massive thank you to Anna (Oncology), Karen (Heart Clinic), District Nurses Service, Motueka and Nelson Hospice for all your kind support. In lieu of flowers donations to Nelson Hospice would be very much welcome. The friends of Darryl are respectfully informed that his funeral service will be held at the Motueka Bowling Club, Pah St, Motueka, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, commencing at 1.00pm, followed by his interment at Motueka Cemetery and an afternoon tea.
