Peacefully after a long illness. Loved husband of Barbara for 58 years. Father and father-in-law of Richard and Morag, Katharine and Tom James; Grandad of Julia, Peter, Beatrix, and Francis. Brother and brother-in-law of Shaun and Allison Forlong, Jen and John Dennis. Valued uncle, colleague, friend and mentor to many. A funeral service for Robert will be held at Pathways at St Andrew's Church, 388 Church Street, Palmerston North, on Tuesday 15 September 2026, at 2.00pm, followed by private interment.
