Passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on 28th September 2026, aged 71. Beloved wife for 50 years of Norman. Mum and mother-in-law to JoAnn, Andrew, Chris and Caroline, Jonathan and Sarah. Special Oma to Sophie, Nathan, Ellie, Emily, Penny and Spencer. Daughter of Johanna and Gerardus Smaling, dearly loved sister of Richard, John, James, Anna, Michael, Sonia and sister in-law of Mary and Ross. Karen lived a wonderful life where she made many precious friends. Karen's funeral will be held at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit Palmerston North, Monday 5th October 2026 at 10.30am, followed by a private cremation.
