Posted 4 July 2026

MCPHAIL, Julie Elizabeth. (née McMurray). It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our much-loved Julie. Beloved and devoted wife of Andrew. Treasured Mum of Beth, Heather and Stuart. Adored Grandla of Esmae, Elsie, Emileen, Edith, Harrison, Amelia, Colton, and Baby McPhail, all of whom were the immense joy of her life. Cherished sister of Bill and Gay, and a dear friend to so very many. Julie was the heart of her family, kind, generous, caring, and always ready with love, encouragement, and laughter. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome and valued, and her warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. A passionate member of the theatre community, Julie found great joy in the friendships, creativity, and connection it brought to her life. Her dedication will be remembered by many both on and off the stage. The suddenness of her passing has left a space in our hearts that can never be filled, but we take comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the love she shared so freely throughout her life. Forever loved, forever remembered, and sorely missed.

A celebration of Julie's life will be held at Evans Funeral Services Chapel, Ormond Road at 1.00pm on Monday, 6 July 2026, followed by interment at Taruheru Lawn Cemetery. All who knew and loved Julie are warmly invited to attend. Evans Funeral Service Ltd FDANZ www.evansfuneral.co.nz
