Passed peacefully on July 28, 2026, in her 95th year, surrounded by the love of her family. Much loved wife of Doug Kennedy (deceased), loved and respected mother and mother-in-law of David (deceased) and Dale, Craig and Sue (deceased), Adrian and Comine Kennedy. Vivienne and Stuart Hewson (deceased), Andrew and Carmel Kennedy. Dearly loved Grandmother of Christiaan and Kirsty, Rebecca, Steven and Sarah, Ross, Ian and Erin Kennedy. Robbie Hewson, Anna and Thomas Kennedy. Cherished Great-Grandma and supergran of all her great-grandchildren who will always hold Ruthie close to their hearts.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at Cashmere Presbyterian Church, 2 MacMillan Avenue, Cashmere, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 10.00am. Messages may be addressed to the family of the late Ruth Kennedy, c/- Hope Funerals Christchurch, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch 8042.
