It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Koko Rangihau Te Moana on Monday, July 6, 2026. Rangihau, dearly loved husband of Dianne and a much-loved father to Tania (deceased), Herini, Kiri, Shawn (deceased), Tiana, Anahera, and many mokopuna. Rangihau was a respected and cherished kaumatua who served his community in Otautahi. He shared his Tuhoe aspirations with compassion, leaving a legacy through his mokopuna and students. His enduring commitment to service and unity touched many lives and continues to inspire those who knew him. Rangihau will lie in state at Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Te Whanau Tahi, Lyttelton Street, Spreydon, Christchurch. Karakia will be held at 7.00pm each evening. Ra Nehu/Funeral Service at 10.00am on Saturday at Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Te Whanau Tahi. The service will be followed by burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
